Emmanuel — God is with us

The Christmas Season follows Advent beginning with the Christmas Vigil Mass
and ending with the feast of the Baptism of Jesus in January.

We celebrate not only the significance of God being with us but of His actually being IN us!  Jesus is the perfect example of what God intended when God created humans “in our image and likeness.”  While both human AND divine, Christ, as a human, lived and taught what the Will of God is all about.  His conformity with God’s Will, as a human, is what we must commit to and continue to strive for in our humanness.

NOTE:  Several of the liturgies for the Christmas Season have readings with Longer and Shorter Forms .  Further, several of the liturgies have more than one choice of readings.  Check with the parish’s Liturgy Director or the Presider for the particular Mass whenever there is a choice to be made.

We have added audio recordings of a number of proclamations in this season.  Whenever available two proclaimers are featured — a man and a woman.  It may be interesting to compare and contrast the two voices.  Click on the icon for the liturgy you are interested in (printed or audio as the case may be).

We’ve also included a link to “The Word” column from America Magazine for each liturgy (if available).  The articles are from the last Year A Cycle but are still useful and thought-provoking for your preparation efforts.

A NOTE FOR THE HOLY FAMILY LITURGY
In Year A any of the three (3) Gospel choices (Year A, Year B, or Year C) can be used.
Check with your presider as to which will be proclaimed.
